Lifeline Screening is a health screening service that helps people detect medical problems, before they become life threatening. They offer three types of screenings.
Ultrasound screenings: This is a method the sends sound waves to specific structures in the body. The echoes produced are recorded. Trained technologists use state-of-the-art equipment to get accurate readings, which they can use to detect images. This technology can screen for abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, bone density and peripheral arterial disease. This is a painless, non-invasive procedure.
Blood-screening: This involves a simple finger prick and getting a small blood sample. The blood test is used to find total cholesterol levels for both HDL (good cholesterol) and LDL (bad cholesterol). Blood results will also show blood sugar readings to help detect diabetes. It will show the levels of C-reactive protein, which will tell whether you are at risk for heart disease. The test also indicates the level of liver enzymes. Blood screening results are available, usually within 10 minutes.
Electrocardiograph: This test will show atrial fibrillation, or irregular heartbeats. This is a condition which can lead to stroke. This is done by an EKG, which is non-invasive, and requires no preparation.
The ultrasound and EKG screenings are simple and easy, as well as affordable. Find out the level of health within a very short time frame. You can find out about your overall health condition, before a major problem develops. The screening will allow you to take preventive actions, before you need an emergency room.
